Algorithm/Program Planning
Today I worked again on program planning and I think what i need to do has become a lot clearer. Already I have finished some algorithms, and when I re-read them i noticed some errors, so I suppose my testing has already begun.
Hopefully I can finish planning the algorithms by the end of this week, and then I need to move onto the next task, according to my Gantt project planner. I think that is an achievable goal.

Program Planning
Today I started my program planning, and looked back over my Gantt project and the Brief. I think I am on track, and will be able to finish the program planning by the end of the week, then I can test it as much as someone can test a plan in Word.

Questions answered.... program planning commenced
As in the title, today I answered the questions Mr MacRaghnaill had saved on the student server, as I have a clearer idea of what my game is now. I started program planning, ie. writing down the program in Word. I will finish it tomorrow hopefully and then I can test it.

I have attached what I finished today, my templates for the game. The screen one the games should look similar to this ;) Now I can start to plan the programming, and then after testing it I can make the game!

Finished gathering Sprites
Today I did some more on my Storyboard, I researched pictures to use for the sprites (baby animals). I have seven levels with 3 pictures/animals in each, so 21 pictures/animals altogether. It gets harder to find baby animals and nice pictures, and the baby names start to get repeated. So now I need to research colour themes etc , which i will do next class.

I changed the theme
I decided to change my theme from African Animals to Baby Animals, as there are not many African animals, but lots of baby animals, and I think children will enjoy learning the names for baby animals. I researched photos and saved the ones I liked and their URL.

Start of Storyboard
Today I started my storyboard, choosing pictures so I can collaborate them together and make the final picture. My theme is African animals.

Specifications
Today
I looked over my Gantt project again, and changed a few things, so I hadn’t
actually finished it yesterday. I also started on the ‘specifications’ as said
in my Gantt project. I have attached what I have so far, I think that will be
all.
Game:
· - Player starts with 10 points
· - One point gained from correct match
· - When points = 0, game ends
· - If the player takes longer than a specified time,
player loses a point
· - When word does not match picture, sound is made
and word moves back to original position
· - One point lost if word while being carried hits
a ‘danger’
· - 4 ‘dangers’ fall from the top of the screen
randomly
· - Asks for user’s name
· - Up to 30 words/pictures, 5 per round
· - Words/pictures sit on opposite sides of the
screen
· - Player must drag the words to the pictures
without being hit by the falling ‘dangers’
· - Works on expected and unexpected inputs
- 6 different levels

Completion of Gantt project
Today
I finished my Gantt project planning tool, and I have attached a screenshot. I didn’t
get any work done in the holidays as I was very very busy and had no time.
